The Development of the Malaysian Vocational Education and Training System (VET) and Lessons from Singapore & Australia: Making TVET aligned to Industry needs

The vocational education and training (VET) sector in Malaysia has experienced significant change over the last 10 years. This presentation will focus on the challenges facing VET development in Malaysia and the models used to manage industry expectations.

Speaker Biography

Palan is the Pro Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya and author of 16 books. An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he completed his PhD (Education) at the Federation University, Ballarat, Australia.

His research focused on the development of TVET systems. Data from the industry and the gaps between TVET provision and industry needs will be highlighted.
